Psalms 1:1-2 – My Prayer for My Bible Time in 2013

2013 Bible Reading Challenge: The Bible is the Word of God and the power of God is released in our life when we apply it. Join us as we follow the One Year Bible plan. Links to read digitally can be found online at www.pcbc.org/bible.

Scripture: “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.” Psalms 1:1-2

Observation: The man who delights in (finds joy and pleasure) and meditates on (hagah – moan, growl, utter, ponder) the law of the LORD is blessed.

Application: As I begin a new Bible reading plan with Rebecca and PCBC, I am reminded that I do not want to just read the Word.  The blessing is found in meditating on and delighting in the Word.  I plan to do this through SOAP journaling – the format used in this journal entry.

Prayer: Lord, help me to ponder and find joy and pleasure in what I am reading.

What helps you to delight in and meditate on God’s Word?
