Join us in the Project 345 reading plan as we read through the New Testament.
Context: John has been caught up into heaven, he sees around the throne of God four living creatures who sing “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” He also sees 24 elders who “fall down before Him who is seated on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne,” saying:
Revelation 4:11 “Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they existed and were created.”
Observations: Worthy = (axios) Meaning: of weight, of worth, worthy, having the weight of another thing of like value, worth as much, befitting.
Application: I want to verbalize more often that God is WORTHY. He is deserving of all glory, honor and power. “Revelation Song” is on my mind. I want to sing this song throughout the day.
When was the last time you told God how much He is worth?
I just finished reading Revelation once more and was reminded that in the first 42 months the horsemen actions were directed at the lost in an effort to win them to God through the blood of His Lamb, Jesus Christ. It shows God’s great love for all mankind and His desire to have all worship Him and accept His salvation.
It also means that we as Christians have a great responsibility to share our witness with all around us who do not know God’s salvation. This is pointed out in Revelation 12:11, “They defeated him by the blood of teh Lamb, and by their testimony, for they did not love their lives but laid them down for Him.”
Every Christian should have their personal life testimony ready to give in a 1 to 1 1/2 minute time with a) life before Christ, b) how they accepted Christ, c) how he has aided and blessed their lives, giving Him the glory and praise.
Great words John! Yes, it is clear that we need to be ready as Christians to share what God has done in our lives.
Revelation 12:11, “They defeated him by the blood of teh Lamb, and by their testimony, for they did not love their lives but laid them down for Him.”
I encourage all of you to consider the format for a testimony that John has recommended above.
