S – Psalm 119:143 “As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.”
O – Pressure and stress are bearing down on David. In the midst of stress, he finds joy. Where? In the Word of God.
A – I need to find joy in the Word of God as I feel stress today. Meditating on the Bible has proven to be a fountain of joy for me in stressful times.
P – Lord, thank you for Your supernatural, life giving, commands. Through Your Spirit, help me to see above myself.
Are you stressed? Find joy in God’s commands.

This is so bizarre…hang on, no it’s not…it’s SO God! Seems to be that every one of your posts speak to me and this one is no different. I just did this very thing this morning and want to say Amen to what you’ve encouraged here, it’s the only thing to combat stress. After having a totally terrible morning, feeling overwhelmed I decided to sing parts of Psalm 16, whilst ‘trying’ to play my guitar. I did it very loudly and repetitively and have sung the merry, strengthening tune all day long. Stress – 0 God – 1!
We forget sometimes that, as like David, we are to strengthen ourselves in the Lord!
Blessings to you and your beautiful family 🙂
