John 5:39 – Is Your Bible Study Fulfilling?

S – John 5:39 – “You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!” – Jesus

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

O – Some people search the Bible because they think It will give them eternal life.  The point of the Bible is Jesus.

A – I don’t want to search the Scripture and miss Jesus.  Today, as I get to spend some time in Bible study, I want to look for Jesus.

P – Lord, help me to find the real point of the Scripture.  Make Jesus alive on every page.

Bible study cannot be fulfilling apart from Jesus.  He is what the Scriptures point to.

  1. Can’t begin to tell you how precisely spot on your post is for me today!!!! Praise the Lord

p.s There was nowhere to leave a comment on your Bio page…just wanted to say, what a beautiful family and I loved what you said about you all being a team, all ministering together. There’s way too much compartmentalization of lives within Christianity. I hughly recommend you reading ‘Living on the Devils Doorstep’ by Floyd McClung…great testimony to how God used him AND his family (including his children) to minister in Amsterdam. Think you’d find it encouraging.
    God Bless 🙂

    • Praise the Lord. I was challenged through the passage also.

My family is God’s greatest gift to me apart from Christ. I will look for Living on the Devils Doorstep right now… Thank you for the recommendation.
