Today’s Reading: 2 Kings 22:3‐23:30, Acts 21:37‐22:16, Psalm 1:1‐6, Proverbs 18:11‐12

2 Kings 23:2b-3 And he (Josiah) read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant that had been found in the house of the Lord. And the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people joined in the covenant.

Observation:

• The word of God was read (Book of the Covenant – probably Deuteronomy)
• Josiah made a covenant before the Lord
• Covenant:
• Walk after the Lord
• Keep his commandments and his testimonies and statues
• Do this with all his heart and all his soul
• Perform the words of the covenant that were written in the book
• All the people joined Josiah in the covenant

Prayer: Lord, tear down my idol worship and make me fully committed to obeying you.
