Today’s Reading: 2 Kings 15:1‐16:20, Acts 19:13‐41, Psalm 147:1‐20, Proverbs 18:4‐5
2 Kings 15:3-4 And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done. Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and made offerings on the high places.
Observation:
- In a list of a lot of kings who did wrong, it says that Azariah “did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.”
- “Nevertheless…”
- “The high places were not taken away.”
Apply: Where are the high places in my life and my family that I need to destroy. What are the high places in my ministry that I need to be aggressive to tear down?
Have you worked under an Azariah that did good things but did not destroy the “sacred cows?” How would you describe that kind of leadership?
This type of leadership is very confusing to serve under.
Yes. It is frustration. I pray that God will keep me from doing this in my own life.
